Welcome to my Instructional Page!

I'm a faculty member at the Berklee Collegeof Music. I've been teaching there for fifteen years, as well as teaching adult hobbyists and children of all ages . Whatever your interest is in terms of music, I can help. Are you getting serious and really wanting to get your playing together at a professional level? Here's several videos that will give you some examples of the things I cover

Hope to meet you and hear what you're into soon! email me at bsher@berklee.edu for more information.

FRETBOARD HARMONY

Fretboard Harmony - Works on an understanding of the basic principles of harmony and how they unfold on the guitar. This course is great for taking rock guitarists out of the "box," so to speak, that most beginning rock players find themselves limited by. - This concept also speaks to the more advanced players, opening up the neck in a vertical manner to create longer vertical arpeggios and motivic development.

INTRO TO JAZZ GUITAR

This course is ideal for guitarists who have just gotten an interest in the sound of modes and are craving more ideas and information on expanding beyond rock styles. Stylistically everything  from Jeff Beck to Grant Green is included.

MASTERING THE MAJOR SCALES

an important part of improvising is knowing your major scales! I find guitarists are really pretty bad at this! Many can play a ton of scale fingerings, but can't get from the bottom of the neck to the top of the neck smoothly! Here's my comcept so you can change that
