Ben Sher/Larry Corban jazz   Guitar Duo:

New York city veteran jazz guitarists Ben Sher and Larry Corban have teamed up to form an exciting new collaboration. They are pleases to announce the release of their new recording:  Diálogos de Guitarra : 

 

 

Ben Sher are a team of veteran New York city jazz guitarists. Ben Sher is a faculty member at the Berklee College of Music. He has three recordings of his own on the BGI Records label. Known for his Brazilian Jazz style, Ben is a versatile jazz  guitarist whose influenced by the entire legacy of the jazz guitar. He can evoke the sounds of Django Reinhart, Kenny Burrell, and contemporary jazz and fusion stylists depending on what context he is playing in. Larry Corban is a fiery player, whose new recording “the Corbinator” is getting rave reviews. Larry appears frequently around New York city with his trio, and is busy working in the pit orchestras for many of the Broadway show in New York including the School of Rock, SpiderMan and the Radio City Christmas show. http://larrycorban.com

 

Diálogos de Guitarra references all the great jazz guitar duos of the past: There’s the acoustic swing style of Eddie Lang and Carl Kress; the intricate be-bop interplay style of Herb Ellis and Joe Pass,  the exciting flamenco/jazz style of John McLaughlin and Paco DeLucia and the great tradition of the Brazilian guitar
